Instructions Chicken wings:
Get your children to cover a baking tray with baking paper and place the chicken wings on it. Pre-heat the oven according to instructions and watch as the chicken wings become crispy and delicious.Ingredients:
Homemade potato salad:
- 1 kg new potatoes (small potatoes)
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 1 cup of natural yoghurt
- 1 bunch of spring onions
- 1 bunch of chervil
- 1 bunch of parsley
- 1 bunch of chives
- 2 cloves of garlic, salt and pepper
Preparation: 30 mins
Tip:
Because the potatoes will be used with their skins, it's important they're thoroughly scrubbed and washed beforehand.
Instructions Homemade potato salad:
- Place a large saucepan of water on the stove, add salt and bring to a boil. Add the potatoes and boil them just enough that they're still hard to the bite.
- Drain the potatoes, cool them and halve them. This you should do yourself, as it is all too easy to get scalded by boiling water or burnt by hot potatoes. On top of that, a saucepan full of potatoes is too heavy for children. But they are, of course, allowed to watch as well as to each munch on a cooled potato!
- However, your helpers can certainly help prepare the dressing. Give each of them a large bowl. Then fill them with cream and yoghurt and mix it all up. They can also, equipped with children's knives, cut the spring onions. These are then added to the cream and yoghurt mixture.
- Peel and crush the garlic and also add to the dressing. Older children will be able to do this themselves. 5-6 year-old culinary explorers may, however, have problems with being able to crush the garlic. In this case, step in and help them.
- Finally, add the halved potatoes and mix well to the dressing. Older children can also do this themselves, but I would advise not to allow younger children to do so, otherwise it might all end up on the floor!
- Serve with the chicken wings and perhaps a little ketchup.
