Preparation: 30 mins

Ingredients like oat flakes and nuts can be altered according to taste. Also try it with almonds, cranberries, coconut flakes and walnuts.
Instructions:
- Mix the oat flakes, puffed oats, nuts and raisins together in a bowl
- Blend the butter, honey, and lemon juice together in a large pot on the stove and gently stir as you bring it to a boil. Only older children should help here because the risk of injury is too high for smaller children. You should also take care that their faces don't get too close to the heated mass. It might spit and cause burns. As a rule, children should always be supervised in such situations.
- Now add the dried ingredients to the mixture and simmer until everything has a dark colour.
- Then spread the mass on a baking tray covered with baking paper. This you should also do yourself, because the mass is extremely doughy. Then bake at 180°C for approx. 15 minutes. Adjust the baking time depending on how crispy and brown you want them to be. Allow to cool and then use a sharp knife to cut the baked mass into bars.
- Those who want the bars to be a little sweeter can melt chocolate in a bowl placed in hot water and coat the bars by dunking them in the liquid chocolate. Allow plenty of time for them to completely dry.
