Introducing Nurofen
for Children
Nurofen - who are we?
Like so many mums and dads, you probably recognise the famous Nurofen for Children target. You might also know that Nurofen is one of the best selling brands in adult oral pain-relief. But who exactly are we?The inventors of ibuprofen
Nurofen and Nurofen for Children are made by Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare Ltd. It was in the 1960s that 3 scientists from Boots developed ibuprofen – the active ingredient in Nurofen and Nurofen for Children.
At first ibuprofen was a prescription-only medicine. But it gained a reputation as an effective pain-reliever and in 1989 it was approved as an over-the-counter medicine. Then, Nurofen for adults was launched.
A first for children
After the success of Nurofen we realised something was missing. Many parents liked Nurofen for adults and trusted it. But they couldn’t give it to their children. So after listening to their needs and concerns, we developed the very first ibuprofen-based pain-relief for babies and children. It was launched as Nurofen for Children in 1999.Leaders in innovation
We’ve been dedicated to constant and never-ending improvement since the launch of Nurofen for Children. We talk to mums and dads like you. We find out what you want for your children and what you’d like us to improve. And then, most importantly, we deliver.
For instance, we understand that getting your child to take medicine can be a battle – if it doesn’t taste right it probably won’t go down! That’s why Nurofen for Children comes in great Strawberry and Orange flavours.
And that’s not all. We’ve helped make it even easier to give your child the correct dose – with every bottle of Nurofen for Children, you’ll find an easy dosing syringe.
